Win a free Tunic + Pants pattern!

One of our 2009 projects is a complete makeover of our website. Right after the collection is ready, we will start brainstorming on what we want the new www.jalie.com to look like. I thought I might ask you guys for your input to help the future design team come up with a new online store that truly reflects the Jalie spirit.

I would like each of you to come up with 2-3 words that best describe our our company. Simply post your words in the comments (with your name of course!) for a chance to win a free copy of out of print pattern 2007.

I was keeping this pattern in case I lost the cut pattern I have, but changed my mind :) The pattern (that can be used for skating) includes the tunic (very short dress) and stretch pull-on pants. I wore my slinky version (that I've had for 8 years now) up to week 30 or so of my pregnancy.

We will pick the winner (with a random number generator) on March 1st. Good luck everyone!

up-to-date, well-drafted, economical, and fun ~ okay, so I broke the rules and gave four. I have more, but I'll play fair. :-)

P.S. I'm dying to see what the new patterns will be. Will you give us a sneek peek please???

I will be posting sneek peeks as soon as the patterns are off to press and I have time to take decent photos of the best-looking prototypes.

I haven't decided yet where I'll post them first: on our Facebook page or on this blog... :)

I read both sites, so I'm up for where you post sneek peeks!

Value, style and comfort.

I'd like to request a pattern for an unlined wind shell jacket, with half zip and full zip options. Minimum seams at shoulders etc for keeping out light rain. :-) I can only ask!

Yvette: Thank you for your suggestion! A full-zip jacket is definitely on our list for a future pattern.

We do have a current pattern that might fit the description (for the half-zip option): http://www.jalie.com/sewingpatterns/patterncovers/2213.html

It's unlined and has no shoulder seams. The vent openings in the back are a great feature since they let in a little extra air and keep your cool during cardio activities or hot humid weather.

I wear mine year-round: over my 2448 fleece underwear for winter jogging or as a wind-stopper in the summer. It fits great, but I wouldn't recommend it for cycling as it is a little too loose and tend to create a "sail" effect on windy days :)

European style and fit; timeless. The Quebecois sense of style is showcased in Jalie patterns.

Always perfect fit! Easy to put together! Clear instructions and illustrations! I love that they are multi-sized - which makes them economical!

I started sewing 2 months ago, and my first project was a skating dress for my daughter's first competition. It was so easy, fun and I really appreciated the pattern being printed on white paper, making it so easy to trace. I then tried some other Jalie patterns for tops, and I could do one for my 3 year old and my 9 year old as well. So much fun...I'm HOOKED ON JALIE...made my first sewing experience a real breeze...

So I guess I would say EASY, FUN, and STYLISH

Hi Emilie,

About the shell top - yes I had already had a look at the one you suggested, thank you. It seemed to me to be too bulky (I hadn't realised it was unlined though!), with too many seams (for what I am after), thereby adding lots of weight. I am coming to this from a travelling light point of view, so minimum seams and bulk is my aim!

I do love your patterns. With a daughter who has started competitive gymnastics, I can see that I might be needing to purchase leotard patterns from you somewhere along the line.

I do love the look of your range of designs - they are really contemporary. Something that the "big guys" in the pattern industry often seem to lack...

Toujours au goût du jour! ;-)

today's designs, always!

Dommage que le nouveau site ait perdu son biliguisme. Pour le reste j'adore les designs qui sont si bien faits et qui durent dans le temps!

Continuez votre beau travail!

Hip, stylish, mom and daughter patterns! I really appreciate the smaller sizes being included with the pattern so I can sew the same clothes for my 4 year old.

I also want to say "useful" - where else can I find great skating dress patterns???
